Textile: FY26 Seems Promising as Local Cotton tumbled - By Sherman Research

<p></p><ul><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:medium;">Cotton in Local market is trading at 21-month low level. Currently per maund price of cotton at Karachi cotton exchange fell to Rs16.6k compared to Rs18k at the beginning of CY25, down 8%. Moreover, this thirsty crop is down 9% from its last harvesting season (July-Oct 2024) 18.2k/maund in Aug&rsquo;22. On the other hand, cotton prices in international market remained relatively stable compared to the beginning of CY25.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:medium;">Local cotton, which usually trades in line with landed international prices, had been at a premium during past few months due to inventory buildup from companies amid supply chain concerns and rise in input cost.
