Exports dropped to 39,000 tonnes in February but rebounded in March, driven by a government decision allowing refineries to sell surplus oil internationally. Furnace oil's role in power generation has diminished significantly, with little contribution to electricity production in February. Refineries are working to reduce high-sulphur furnace oil output, but delays in upgrades due to sales tax issues have hampered progress.
