Pakistan Cement: Coal prices losing their steam – By Insight Research

<p></p><ul><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:medium;">Richard Bay coal prices have plunged to its 13-month low, clocking in at US$145/ton in Feb&rsquo;23. The decline is mainly attributable to increased mining capacity in China, where the total production clocked in at 4.49bn tons in CY22, up by 9% compared to SPLY. Another factor affecting the coal prices is mild winter coupled with adequate stockpiles of RNLG in Europe, which has curtailed the coal-fired generation within the region.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:medium;">To recall, International coal prices skyrocketed to ~US$453/ton in Mar'22.
