<ul><li><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:medium;">Pakistan’s towel manufacturing industry is predominantly
export based, where more than 70% of domestic production is exported. There are
~190 manufacturers operating in this organized sector of which majority are
operating in the southern region. In FY18 towel exports from Pakistan stood at
205,593 MT (4.3% higher than in FY17), however in value terms $797mn worth of
towels were exported compared to $800mn in the previous year. Installed
capacity of auto looms is estimated to be ~20,000 which include both auto looms
and auto shuttle less looms. In terms of major export markets, 46% of towels
are exported to USA, while European countries constitute ~30% of the total
